We are currently seeking a temporary ongoing Debt Officer to join our Public Sector clients team in Newry.
Hours of work: Monday -Friday 18.75 hours per week.
Rate of pay: £12.31 per hour
Location: Newry
About the Role
Our public sector client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Debt Officer to join our Finance team in Newry. Reporting to the Debt Manager, the successful candidate will assist in the recovery of income owed to the Trust across various categories. This is a part-time role providing maternity cover, with responsibilities spanning debt management, financial systems, and stakeholder liaison.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the recovery of Trust income in line with policies and procedures.
- Liaise with clients, relatives, and representatives to negotiate debt recovery.
- Monitor overdue debt reports and manage debtor accounts using Excel and financial systems.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure secure handling of personal data.
- Provide cover for colleagues and support the Debt Manager in ensuring compliance with statutory guidance.
- Participate in office routines including handling correspondence, issuing invoices, and preparing reports.
- Contribute to governance processes and continuous improvement of systems and procedures.

Qualifications:
- 4 GCSEs at Grades A-C including English Language and Maths or equivalent/higher qualification AND 1 year's experience in a clerical/administrative role
OR - 2 years' experience in a clerical/administrative role
