Hourly Rate: £24.04 - £25.95

Salary: £43887.73 - £47373.48 per annum

Contract Duration: Permanent

Hours: 35 hours per week

Role Purpose

To act as Engineer and assist the Roads Asset Team Leader, in managing the Councils Infrastructure Assets, primarily roads, drainage, footways, cattlegrids and barriers. This will typically involve using and providing technical expertise to deliver Capital and Revenue schemes relating to these assets. The role also involves the design, inspection and completion of condition assessments for these assets including reviews of scheme costs and assist with the financial management of the service. This is to fulfil the Council’s statutory obligations and to meet the needs of the Council, Elected Members and the general public. The role would require the successful candidate to oversee and manage the preparation of contract documents, plans, registration of works and update CONFIRM management system of all new records in relation to maintenance on assets. Whilst ensuring the effective management of health and safety and CDM within the area of responsibility.

Essential

• Educated to HND or HNC in Civil Engineering or a relevant discipline or present evidence of comparable experience and training.
• SVQ Level 4 in a relevant discipline or willing to obtain within agreed timescales on appointment.
• Membership of Institution of Civil Engineers or Institution of Highways and Transportation, or willing to obtain within agreed timescale on appointment.

A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post.
