Are you passionate about ensuring compliance and driving quality in apprenticeship programs? CITB is seeking a meticulous and proactive Lead Assurance Audit Coordinator to play a pivotal role in safeguarding the integrity of our English apprenticeship provision.

Role: Lead Assurance Audit Coordinator

Office Location: Any CITB site, with the option for a blended working approach, agreed with your Line Manager

Hours of Work: Full-time (35 hours per week)

Working Pattern: Business operating hours are between 08:00 – 18:00.

Contract: Fixed Term contract for one year

Grade: SC2

Target Salary: £42,642 per annum

About the Role

As the Lead Assurance Audit Coordinator, you will be the cornerstone of our compliance efforts, ensuring that CITB’s apprenticeship programs meet the rigorous standards set by the Department for Education (DfE) and other regulatory bodies. You’ll lead audits, advise on corrective actions, and collaborate across departments to maintain the accuracy and completeness of learner documentation and funding claims.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Compliance Oversight

Ensure CITB’s Individualised Learner Record (ILR) aligns with DfE funding rules
Audit learner files and documentation including Training Plans/Commitment Statements, OTJ training evidence, and other critical compliance documentation
Monitor and cleanse PDSAT reports to mitigate data errors
Provide guidance to Apprenticeship Administrators and support rectification actions
Monitoring & Training Plan Management

Audit OTJ training records to ensure compliance with required hours and content
Collaborate with Training Teams and employers to validate and improve all required compliance documentation
Risk Management

Identify and escalate risks related to funding, Ofsted inspections, and DfE audits
Support audit preparation and documentation for external reviews
Continuous Improvement & Reporting

Deliver regular reports on compliance performance and risk areas
Develop and maintain action plans to address inefficiencies
Legislation & Internal Practices

Stay current with relevant legislation and internal policies including Safeguarding, GDPR, and Equality & Diversity
Stakeholder Engagement

Build strong relationships with internal teams, employers, apprentices, and subcontractors
Ensure timely resolution of documentation issues and provide updates to senior management
Your Experience:

Proven and significant experience in audit, compliance, or funding within English apprenticeships
Strong understanding of DfE English apprenticeship funding rules and ILR data requirements
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
Confident communicator with the ability to influence and support stakeholders
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams
