The role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Lawyer to join our clients Legal Services team, providing expert legal advice and representation in complex children and families cases. This hybrid, 5-month interim role offers the chance to work on high-impact cases that directly affect the lives of children across Manchester and Salford.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle complex and sensitive public and private children law matters
Provide high-quality legal advice to council departments
Represent the council in court and manage related legal proceedings
Mentor junior staff and contribute to legal training
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and council policies
What the client is looking for:
Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or FCILEX (with advocacy rights)
Extensive recent experience in children and families law
Strong advocacy and legal drafting skills
Ability to manage complex caseloads independently
Politically sensitive and solution-focused approach
