The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Pastoral Support Worker to join a welcoming school in Bradford. This is a full-time, long-term position with an immediate start, offering a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact. You will be a vital part of the school's pastoral team, working to improve the well-being, attendance, and behaviour of students. This is a hands-on role where you will be on the front line, providing crucial support to students facing a range of challenges, from social and emotional difficulties to academic barriers.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a pastoral or support role within a school or similar setting.
  • A genuine passion for supporting the social, emotional, and academic development of young people.
  • An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service, or the willingness to apply for one.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.
  • Monitoring student attendance and punctuality, implementing strategies to improve them.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for students, parents, and teachers regarding pastoral concerns.
  • Liaising with external agencies, such as social services, to ensure students receive appropriate support.
  • Implementing and monitoring individual support plans for vulnerable students.
  • Delivering targeted interventions and workshops on topics such as resilience, anxiety, and self-esteem.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential records of student interactions and support provided.
  • Contributing to the school's positive behaviour management system.
  • Attending and contributing to pastoral and safeguarding meetings.
  • Promoting a positive and inclusive school culture where every student feels valued and supported.
