The Milford Academy is a Single Academy Trust (SAT) Primary School situated in Clifton on the outskirts of Nottingham. The school has approximately 455 children on roll including a Nursery unit and from September 2025 a SEN Unit. This is an exciting time at the academy as the school pushes forward with its ambitious development plans.
We are looking to appoint a dedicated, reliable and enthusiastic Cleaner in Charge to take responsibility for the cleanliness and hygiene of our school. The successful candidate will not only undertake cleaning duties but will also manage and support a small team of cleaners, ensuring that the school is maintained to a high standard at all times.
The role will involve (Please see Job Description for more details) –
• Supervising and supporting a team of cleaners to ensure duties are carried out to a high standard.
• Carrying out cleaning tasks across the school to maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation.
• Organising cleaning schedules and monitoring completion of tasks.
• Ensuring cleaning equipment and materials are used safely and effectively.
• Ordering and managing stock of cleaning supplies.
• Carrying out regular inspections and addressing any issues promptly.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements, including COSHH regulations.
• Reporting any maintenance or site issues to the School Business Manager.Person Specification We are looking for someone who is: • Experienced in cleaning and maintaining high standards of hygiene.
• Confident in supervising and motivating a small team.
• Well organised, reliable and able to use their initiative.
• Knowledgeable about health and safety and safe use of cleaning materials.
• Flexible and willing to work as part of the wider school team.
• Committed to ensuring a safe and positive environment for children.
