Due to aretirement,we are looking fora new band 7Clinical LeadKidneyDietitian.  


This is32.5 hourspost where the post holder can choose to spread hours across 4 or 5 days.


The post holder wouldbe expected tomanage the dietetic careforconsultant led kidneyclinicsandto provide dietetic cover to a haemodialysis satellite unit, dialysing over 100 patients per week.


The post holder will combine a management/leadership role alongside a specialist clinical role.  


The post holder would be expected to clinically superviseaband 5 Rotational Dietitian1 day a weekandstudents. 


They would also be expected to continually develop and evolve theRenalDietetic team aswell as lead onRenalDietetics for the Trust providing guidance, training and policies as required. They would also be expected to support the wider Dietetic management team.


Clinically the post holder would be expected to manage a caseload ofpatients withcomplexkidneyneeds


The successful post holder will be part of theRenal teamteam.The team consists of 2 x Band 7 (Team Leads), 1day a weekx Band 5 (rotational) and is supported by a clinical support worker admin tasks.


The post holder would be primarily basedatBlackburnDialysiscentrebut would be expected to work across all East Lancashire Dietetic localities


TheRenalDietetic team work closely with their colleaguesat Prestonand will be an integral part of the MDTon the dialysis units


TheRenalteam is a part of the wider Dietetic Department.  The Department has over70Staff of which 45 are Dietitians and is well supported with DieteticAssistants,AssistantPractitionersand admin staff.  The department uses the electronic patient record system EMIS for outpatients and Cerner for inpatients. The Kidney Dietitians also have access to pathology and record systems from the Renal Hub at Preston


To provide cover to 4-5 renalmultidisciplinaryconsultant led clinicsper weekincluding a monthly advanced kidney care clinicforstage5patients.


To provide dietetic cover tohaemodialysis satellite unit,dialysing over 100 patients per weekandattendingmonthly multidisciplinary meetings per month atthecentre.


To provide advice tocolleagues onthemanagement ofpatients at ELHT who have kidneydisease


The department offers student training toA,Band C placements and Dietitian Apprenticeships therefore the post holder will be expected to be involved in clinical teaching and assessment of students on their placement so thereforepreviousstudent training experience is desirable. 

East Lancashire is a teaching hospital so the post holder would also be expected to contribute to Medical and other health care professional training as well.


East Lancashire has good transport links to Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool and beyond and we are close to the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. 


The post holder would be expected to work across the sites and localities of East Lancashire so the post would suit a car driver/owner.
