St John Ambulance works at the heart of communities, supporting and enabling them to access and receive physical and mental health first aid. We do this through developing and providing effective community response and outreach services (e.g. Ambulance response & Nighttime Economy) and using our longstanding expertise to empower people with vital clinical skills and the confidence to use them (e.g. our Volunteers and Community Advocates, NHS Cadets and Young Responders programmes). There is also a buoyant social enterprise network which delivers first aid training and supplies medical consumables to businesses and consumers.
Job Summary
The postholder will be responsible for managing and optimising the organisation's IT assets throughout their lifecycle. This includes tracking and maintaining hardware and software inventory, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements, and supporting the implementation of asset management policies and procedures.
The role involves close collaboration with various departments to ensure efficient use of IT resources and adherence to governance and security standards.
About You
You will be educated to GCSE level or equivalent (Grade C / 4), a minimum of 5, including Maths & English, have knowledge of asset management principles and practices, have experience in managing IT assets and software licensing, have experience optimising asset performance and utilisation, have proven experience of implementing technology governance frameworks, IT policies, previous experience of implementing information security standards, be experienced in leading cross functional teams to successful outcomes, have the ability to lead and influence a cross functional team without being a direct line manager, have excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels and be able to demonstrate a compassionate and emotionally intelligent leadership style.
About the Role
Documenting and maintaining the IT Asset Management Framework, system and approach.
Tracking and managing the lifecycle of IT assets, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and disposal.
Ensuring compliance with software licensing agreements and managing software audits.
Collaborating with the Technology Governance and Information Security team to ensure asset management practices align with security policies and standards.
Producing regular reports on IT asset status, utilization, and compliance.
Asset and licence optimisation to ensure value for money and minimise waste, including inputting to technology budget planning
Supporting the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives in IT asset management.
Assisting in the development and maintenance of asset management databases and tools.
Conducting periodic reviews and audits of IT assets to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Providing support for technology projects and initiatives related to asset management.
Engaging with stakeholders to understand their asset management needs and provide appropriate solutions.
While this role focuses on IT Asset Management, cross training and supporting across the wider Technology Governance & Information Security function is expected
