For further information please refer to the job description and personal specification To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner and to work energetically and proactively with the Named Nurse, Safeguarding Children to ensure practice in relation to safeguarding children and MCA is of a high standard and that Trust practice is carried out in line with Trust policies. To lead and support senior colleagues and teams on multi agency collaboration, in relation to complex holistic discharge planning. Be able to assess emergency situations and offer advice, direct or provide fast appropriate interventions accurately and promptly. Ensure effective, timely communication and information sharing both internally and externally which compliments multidisciplinary/interagency working. Provide highly specialist and complex advice to a wide range of professionals regarding child safeguarding, application of the mental capacity act and MARAC processes including to staff working in adult services. Act as an autonomous, registered practitioner, who is legally and professionally accountable for own unsupervised actions guided by the professional code of conduct and Trust guidelines and protocols. Take a strategic lead in the management and co-ordination of Child Death Reviews processes and data management /reporting in line with government legislation and Local Safeguarding Children Partnership guidance Support the development and completion of any action plans for the organization following a child safeguarding practice review / domestic homicide review. Undertake a key role in the safeguarding of children, including those of adult patients with children, providing safeguarding consultation, advice, and supervision to all trust staff. Promote a think family culture within the Royal Marsden NHS Trust Lead on providing one to one and group safeguarding children supervision to a defined group of staff, ensuring supervision is recorded. This includes developing and evaluating programmes of safeguarding children supervision. Support the development and implementation of trust policies and guidelines in line with National and local policy and guidance. Support the Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children and Named Professional for Safeguarding Adults on the implementation and evaluation of the Trusts integrated safeguarding strategy and Safeguarding quality improvement programmes.
