Your Role
As Deputy Manager, you'll support the Nursery Manager in leading the team and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the nursery. You’ll step up in their absence, mentor staff, and maintain the highest standards of care, education, and safeguarding.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the leadership and supervision of a strong, motivated team
Support with planning, observations, and assessments under the EYFS
Ensure children’s safety, well-being, and emotional development
Build positive relationships with parents, staff, and external agencies
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Ofsted requirements
Lead by example and promote a positive, professional working environment
What We’re Looking For
Minimum Level 3 Early Years Qualification (or higher)
At least 2 years' experience in a nursery setting
Strong understanding of EYFS, safeguarding & health and safety
Excellent communication, leadership, and organisation skills
Friendly, flexible, and enthusiastic approach
Paediatric First Aid qualified (or willing to complete)
Desirable:
Previous Deputy Manager or Room Leader experience
Experience with online learning journals (e.g., Tapestry)
