Fire Safety Engineer – Remote - £55,000

I am currently helping a well-established fire engineering consultancy, who are seeking a talented and motivated Fire Engineer to join their rapidly growing team. The business has expanded from 30 to over 100 people in just three years and continues to build a strong reputation in the sector. With several satellite offices throughout the UK, the majority of the team work remotely, supported by a collaborative culture and robust operations and finance functions.

As a Fire Engineer, you will work across a diverse portfolio of projects, from high-rise residential and schools to offices, high-security contracts, and external wall work. You’ll have the chance to contribute to industry-leading fire safety solutions, supported by colleagues with expertise spanning design, testing, sprinkler systems, and expert witness services.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver high-quality fire engineering designs and reports across a variety of sectors
- Undertake external wall assessments and contribute to assurance projects
- Collaborate with project teams, clients, and regulators to achieve safe, compliant outcomes
- Support project delivery within agreed timescales and budgets
- Contribute to a positive, team-based working culture focused on shared monthly targets rather than rigid timesheets

Requirements

- AIFireE (preferred for seniors)
- IFSM membership (beneficial)
- BEng in Fire Engineering (preferred) or relevant master’s conversion

- Experience: Around 5 years’ industry experience, ideally including external wall projects
- Strong technical knowledge and ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Benefits

- 9-day fortnight working pattern
- Private healthcare
- Christmas week off (paid)
- Flexible working hours (core 9–5, but outcome-focused)
- Professional membership fees paid annually
- Instant expense claims via company app
