What skills and experience we're looking for
Westminster Academy has a fantastic opportunity to appoint a Teacher of PE to join our thriving and highly collaborative department. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity within a team that is deeply supportive, forward-thinking, and dedicated to helping every student succeed.
We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with experience in delivering BTEC Sport at Levels 2 and 3, as this is a core part of our curriculum. If you have expertise in Dance alongside PE, that’s a huge advantage—our Performing Arts BTEC provision offers exciting opportunities for creative and dynamic teaching. We're keen to hear from those who have either/both skill-sets.
This role is perfect for a teacher who wants to:
• Be part of an inclusive, high-achieving Academy at the heart of Westminster.
• Work within a department where collaboration, professional growth, and innovation are celebrated.
• Inspire young people to reach their potential in both sport and life.
What the school offers its staff
Why Join Us?
• Membership of the Teachers’ Pension Scheme.
• Weekly CPD sessions every Wednesday afternoon (14:15 - 16:15), with opportunities both to deliver training and to develop your own practice.
• Access to a wide range of training resources to support your success in the role.
• Comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme providing wellbeing and practical support.
• Travel support: Access to a Cycle to Work scheme, season ticket loan, free on-site staff car park.

Commitment to safeguarding
We expect all staff to share our commitment to safeguarding. A professional social media check may take place to identify a candidate's online presence to look for negative behaviours such as bullying, racism, nudity and excessive bad language. The post is subject to an enhanced DBS check. This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020, as the work brings employees into contact with children who are regarded by the Act as a vulnerable group. Applicants for any role at WA must disclose all convictions.
