What the school offers its staff

Buckden CE Primary School: A Values-Led Village School at the Heart of ACT Multi Academy Trust

Buckden Church of England Primary Academy is a vibrant and welcoming school located in the village of Buckden, just off the A1 in Cambridgeshire. As one of five schools within ACT Multi Academy Trust, Buckden plays a central role in our growing network of Church of England primaries, each rooted in strong community links and a shared commitment to kindness, ambition, and integrity.

Our school is proud of its close relationship with St Mary’s Church and the wider Buckden community. We place a strong emphasis on developing the whole child—academically, spiritually, physically, and mentally—through a rich curriculum and a nurturing ethos. Our core values are lived out daily, creating a school culture where children are encouraged to aim high, persevere, and care deeply for others and the world around them.

In April 2025, Buckden was rated ‘Good’ in all areas by Ofsted, reflecting our ongoing commitment to improvement and excellence. We continue to work tirelessly to raise standards and enrich our curriculum, ensuring every child receives the best possible start to their education.

Our curriculum is broad, balanced, and engaging—designed to spark curiosity, deepen understanding, and build confidence. We believe in the power of pupil voice and personal development, and our older pupils take on leadership roles that support and inspire younger learners.

Buckden also offers wrap-around care through its popular provision, supporting families and strengthening our inclusive, community-driven approach to education.

Since joining ACT Multi Academy Trust, Buckden has benefited from increased collaboration, strategic support, and access to Trust-wide expertise. Our staff work closely with colleagues across the Trust—including curriculum leaders, subject specialists, and senior leaders—to share best practice and drive improvement.
