At Pobl Group, this role is best known as Scheme Support Officer. We’re looking for a dedicated Scheme Support Officer to join our team at Mill Street, Pontypridd, where we provide emergency accommodation for up to 12 individuals experiencing homelessness. This is a fast-paced service with a high turnover of residents, so adaptability and resilience are key.

It is essential that the successful candidate holds a driver’s licence and has access to a car.

At Mill Street, we provide emergency accommodation for up to 12 individuals experiencing homelessness. As part of our team, you’ll play a vital role in their journey toward independence. This is an exciting opportunity where no two days are the same and your influence is key. You will support people to develop the skills needed to prevent homelessness, improve financial capability and to develop the skills to settle in the community and achieve positive progression.

It is also essential that the successful candidate is IT literate, as we use systems to record customers’ support plans and operate the service effectively.

Your day will consist of:

Engage with and support residents in their personal goals
Deliver workshops on tenancy management and health & wellbeing
Organise meaningful activities to aid progression
Support residents to appointment and activities that are part of their support plan
Maintain the scheme’s health & safety standards
Adapt your approach to meet complex needs, including mental health, substance misuse, and offending behaviour
Work safely when lone working, following safeguarding protocols
Manage crisis situations, using de-escalation skills and accessing on-call support when required

Our motivation is to ensure we equip these individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to live independently. This is a challenging role and you will be faced with complex behaviours and needs, including alcohol misuse, mental health, substance misuse and offending behaviour. You will work with a range of different personalities and behaviours who may not always want to engage in the support we have on offer so you will need to be able to adapt your approach to engage with a diverse cliental.

Pobl Pay & Benefits:

Competitive Salary of £24,531.00
Full-time (37), Permanent position
The successful candidate will need to be a Car owner with a current driving licence
Shift Pattern: The scheme is covered 24 hours, 7 days a week so you would be expected to work on rolling rota which would involve: day shifts, weekends & Waking nights.
This role requires an Enhanced DBS check, which we pay for
26 days (pro rata) holiday entitlement plus Bank holidays
