We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental Health Officer specializing in Food and Health & Safety to join our dynamic team at WCR 3. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring public health standards are maintained across multiple facilities and food establishments. You will conduct health inspections, assess compliance with legislation, and ensure that food safety practices are being upheld to protect the wellbeing of the community. Responsibilities
Conduct regular inspections of food establishments and public health facilities to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Monitor food safety practices and implement corrective actions when necessary to mitigate risks.
Investigate reports of foodborne illnesses and public health complaints, identifying sources and recommending actions.
Provide education and training to food business operators on best practices in food hygiene and safety.
Collaborate with local authorities and enforcement agencies to promote public health standards.
Prepare detailed reports and documentation of inspections, incidents, and investigations for record-keeping and follow-up.
Stay up-to-date with national and local health regulations, ensuring the organization remains compliant with all applicable laws and standards.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or a related field.
Certification as an Environmental Health Officer or equivalent is preferred.
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and health standards.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills to assess compliance and implement solutions.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in the use of technology and software related to health inspections and data management.
Hours Per Week: 36.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour : £31.00
