Executive Assistant - Customer & Corporate Services
Waverley Court

Salary: £33,287 - £39,129 (pro-rate for part-time)
Hours: 18 per week, 52 weeks

Executive Services, within Customer and Digital Services, provides business services and administrative support to the Council's Corporate and Service Directors across all Council directorates. We're looking for a highly organised and proactive Executive Assistant to provide high-level support services to senior leaders within the Place Directorate, as directed by the Senior Executive Assistant.

The Executive Assistant will not normally have direct line management responsibility. The post will not normally be responsible for non-staffing budgets. The post will have shared responsibility for the security and maintenance of council wide information systems. Applicants should have knowledge and skills in a range of business support tasks equivalent to SVQ4 in business adminstration and experience of providing business support to senior leaders.

  • Dealing with competing demands and priorities
  • Organisation and planning of workload and working with minimal supervision
  • Working in a large, complex organisation, preferably public sector and understand the political management arrangements
  • Ability to deal with highly confidential and sensitive information with discretion and to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent team working skills with the ability to work collaboratively and co-operatively with colleagues
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to communicate with a range of internal and external contacts
  • Excellent IT skills - proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to operate in a changing environment to manage competing priorities to tight deadlines
  • A flexible and pro-active approach to work including ability to prioritise
  • Excellent diligence, including proof reading skills, with ability to maintain an elevated level of accuracy

Executive Management

  • Collaborate proactively with the Chief Executive, Corporate Director and Service Director as well as the Directorate to gain a full understanding of the key business requirements.
  • Deliver all aspects of business services requirements as Chief Executive, Corporate Director and Service Director or Business Support Manager including consulting with other business services to coordinate or supply required information including:
    • Data and performance information
    • Financial and budget information
    • HR and staffing information
    • Communication
    • Media Awareness
    • Risk controls

Committee Business

  • Relevant to Committee business, provide support as required including proof reading and editing of Committee reports as well as managing complex information to produce accurate and coherent documents for Directorate and Committee Services
  • Lead the process of forward planning for Committee cycles and drive the production of reports to Council and Committee Meetings

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
