We are currently seeking a professional, experienced Van Driver to join our reputable and growing removals company. This role is ideal for an individual who values high standards, takes pride in their work, and understands the importance of delivering exceptional service during a customer’s move.
Role Overview:
As a Van Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transport of clients’ belongings during residential and commercial relocations. The ideal candidate will have a strong driving record, excellent customer service skills, and the physical capability to manage manual handling tasks with care and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate company vans (primarily Luton or long-wheelbase transit vans) to and from client locations
Load, transport, and unload household or office items securely and efficiently
Ensure all items are handled with care and packed appropriately to prevent damage
Maintain a courteous and professional manner with clients at all times
Work collaboratively with team members on-site to meet tight schedules and ensure client satisfaction
Assist with basic disassembly and reassembly of furniture where required
Adhere to all company safety standards and legal driving requirements
Transport Preparation:
Safely wrap and protect furniture components for transport.
Assist in loading and unloading furniture to minimize damage during transit.
Handle the safe lifting, moving, and carrying of furniture and other heavy items during removals.
Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed on time and to specifications.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and follow safety standards at all times.
Assist in loading and unloading materials and items at job sites or storage facilities.
Candidate Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years' driving experience (preferably involving Luton/transit vans)
Full UK driving licence (clean or minimal endorsements preferred)
Proven experience in removals, furniture assembly, logistics, or delivery is highly desirable
Excellent driving and route navigation skills
Strong interpersonal, effective communication and customer service skills
Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours including occasional weekends and early starts
Strong knowledge of assembling a variety of furniture types and brands (e.g., flat-pack, modular).
Excellent manual dexterity and the ability to use tools such as drills, screwdrivers, and Allen keys.
Physical stamina to lift, carry, and assemble furniture.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Attention to detail to ensure furniture is assembled securely and safely.
