Are you a qualified accountant with a passion for technical finance and a proven track record of leading strategic projects? Our client, a forward-thinking local authority, is seeking a dynamic Service Lead - Technical Finance to join their senior leadership team and play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of the organisation.
About the Role - Reporting directly to the s151 Officer, this is a high-impact leadership position where you'll:
- Lead a team of Finance Managers and Service Managers.
- Provide expert financial advice to senior officers and elected members.
- Drive the development and delivery of medium-term financial strategies.
- Oversee financial governance, control, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate across departments and with external partners to enhance service efficiency.
What You'll Bring
- Strong technical accounting expertise - you'll be the go-to authority on complex financial matters.
- A fully qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIPFA) with significant post-qualification experience.
- Demonstrated success in leading or contributing to strategic projects and organisational change.
- A confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Experience in local government finance is desirable but not essential.
