The Connectivity Team within Digital Technology Services (DTS) oversee the delivery and management of all secure, reliable and scalable network solutions across the campus infrastructure forming the foundation for all IT services across the University.
We are looking for a Junior Network Engineer to join the team and help support the current infrastructure and assist in the delivery of our new network based on Juniper’s IP-CLOS topology underpinned by Juniper Mist AI. Working with modern technology at an enterprise scale, this is a rare opportunity to learn and make a difference to the customers of the network
You must have the following to be considered for the role:
- Experience of working with network equipment (configuration and management)
- Understanding of wired & wireless standards and fundamentals
- Entry level certification such as Comptia (+) or demonstrable equivalent experience.
In addition, you should be able to:
- Demonstrate good working practices in a technical support environment.
- Some knowledge of IT Service Management frameworks such as ITIL
- You will have : compulsory
Knowledge of networking concepts and key protocols such OSPF, STP, BGP, DHCP
- Good understanding of network security and best practice
- Able to work on-site
