Position Title: 1.3 Learning Support Assistant 3
Profile: GO2 SCP 5 to 8
Salary: £25,583 to £26,824 WTE Pro Rata, actual salary will be £15,212 to £15,950.
26.25 hours per week. Monday – Friday, Term Time Only
Closing date: 26th September 2025 at 12 noon
Interview date: Week commencing 29th September 2025
Temporary fixed term position until 31st March 2026 with the possibility of renewal.

The Governing Body at Ysgol Glan Aber are looking to appoint a committed, enthusiastic and motivated learning support assistant to work 26.25 hours a week, Monday to Friday, term time only, across year groups 1 to 6.
The successful applicant will be joining a dedicated, talented and conscientious staff who work in a “happy, caring and supportive learning environment where pupils feel secure and respected.”
Ideally you will:
Have ALN (Additional Learning Needs) experience
Knowledge in the use of ICT effectively to support learning
Use of other equipment technology – video, photocopier
Full working knowledge of relevant policies / codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation
Working knowledge of curriculum for Wales and other relevant learning programmes / strategies
Understanding of principles of child development and learning processes
Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities
Ability to relate well to children and adults
Work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and your own position within these.
Experience of working with pupils on a 1-1 basis
It is essential that you have:
Very good numeracy / literacy skills
NVQ 3 for Teaching Assistants NNEB or equivalent qualification or experience
Training in the relevant strategies e.g. literacy and / or in particular curriculum or learning area e.g. bi-lingual, sign language, dyslexia, ICT, maths, English, CACHE etc
