This is an opportunity to join CNTW as a Consultant Psychiatrist in the Forensic Community Team at St Nicholas Hospital, Newcastle. The team supports people with severe mental illness and forensic needs as they move safely from secure hospital care into the community. Your role will include assessing and treating patients, acting as Responsible Clinician for those under the Mental Health Act, and contributing to risk assessments and safe care planning. You will lead a skilled multidisciplinary team, work closely with local mental health services, and attend multi-agency meetings such as MAPPA. You will also provide specialist advice through Forensic Liaison Clinics and support patients during transitions of care. Alongside clinical duties you will contribute to service development, governance, audit and teaching, with 2.5 SPAs to support your CPD and special interests. On-call duties are part of the role, arranged through a local rota.
