Accounts Payable - Temporary Cover (Until January 2026)

Location: Heywood

Rate: £13.50 per hour

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm (36.25 hours per week)

We are currently recruiting for an Accounts Payable to join a well-established finance team based in Heywood. This is a temporary cover role running until January 2026, ideal for someone with experience in accounts payable who is available for an immediate start.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial records, with a primary focus on accounts payable functions. The role involves handling a range of transactional finance tasks in a busy and supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Processing and monitoring financial transactions
  • Matching supplier invoices to purchase orders and goods received notes
  • Posting and uploading purchase invoices and credit notes
  • Reconciling supplier statements
  • Resolving supplier queries
  • Setting up and managing new supplier accounts
  • Administering the CIS scheme for subcontractors
  • Posting and managing company credit card transactions
  • Preparing and managing BACS payment runs
  • Processing foreign currency and proforma payments
  • General administrative and office support
  • Providing cover for colleagues when required
  • Responding to ad hoc requests from managers and directors
Person Specification

Essential:

  • Proven experience in a similar Accounts Payable or finance role
  • Confident in reconciling and processing financial transactions with accuracy
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and attention to detail skills
  • Excellent time management with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Effective communication skills across all levels of staff
  • Experience using accounting software (preferably Sage 200)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
