This is an opportunity to be an Assistant Clinical Psychologist within an Autism Assessment Pathway for children based in Trafford . The post involves the opportunity to develop your skills in applying psychological knowledge whilst supporting the work of the multi-disciplinary team.
The post holder will also be expected to assist the qualified Psychologists and other clinical colleagues in the preparation, instigation and evaluation of a variety of clinical, teaching and research tasks.
The post holder will act under the supervision of a Senior Clinical Psychologist and will be given appropriate tuition to enable the successful performance of clinical and other duties. These may include contributing to the service evaluations, reports and the autism assessment process.
We are looking for an Assistant Psychologist to support Trafford Autism and Social Communication Pathway (TASC) , under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist.
As an Assistant Psychologist within the team you will be involved in the day to day running of Trafford's Autism diagnosis pathway. The post will include working as part of the MDT and supporting the clinicians in the assessment process. This will include attending the weekly MDT, screening referrals, liaising with referrers and parents and supporting the Clinical Lead with report writing and service evaluations. There will be some opportunity for direct clinical work as well.
There will be opportunity for shadowing in the team as well as co-working cases with qualified clinicians and providing therapeutic support where appropriate.
Your research and clinical audit skills will also be further developed through this post. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a well established NHS Autism assessment service that is forward thinking and dynamic.
