The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Haematology Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to join our Cancer Services Directorate. This is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week) based primarily at our Sutton site, with travel required to all Trust sites including Chelsea.
This post offers a unique opportunity to develop and deliver advanced nursing practice within Haemato-Oncology across inpatient, outpatient, and day care settings for both NHS and private patients. Working as part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, you will provide expert clinical care, act as a role model and leader, and play a key role in shaping the future of Haemato-Oncology services within the Trust.

• Provide expert clinical assessment, diagnosis, and management of Haemato-Oncology patients.
• Undertake advanced clinical procedures including cannulation, blood sampling, bone marrow biopsies, line removals, and venesections.
• Prescribe medications in line with protocols, including Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT).
• Lead daily patient reviews, ward rounds, and MDT meetings, ensuring high standards of documentation and communication.
• Support safe and timely discharge planning, liaising closely with patients, carers, and the wider MDT.
• Act as a clinical leader, role model, and educator, supporting colleagues and contributing to teaching at local, national, and international level.
• Participate in service development, policy creation, clinical governance, audit, and research to continually improve patient outcomes and care delivery.
• Work autonomously within a competency framework and maintain advanced clinical skills in line with the four pillars of advanced practice.

1. Uses best evidence, advanced specialist skills, knowledge and expertise to provide expert clinical care

2. To integrate into the existing clinical structure and to support other professionals to manage the routine care of haemato-oncology in- patients by collaborating with other principle team members for both NHS and PP services.

3. The ANP will undertake routine advanced physical assessment of haemato- oncology patients including history taking, clinical examination, arranging relevant investigations (e.g. blood tests, radiographs) and prescribing

4. Presenting and attending Ward rounds – preparing Ward rounds / MDT/Outpatient lists in conjunction with the team. Reviews patients’ progress on a daily basis, recording any changes to their condition in the medical notes. Verbally communicating changes in care to relevant ward team.
