Hours of work: 8 hours per week (Mondays 7-9pm, Wednesdays 7-9pm and Sundays 12-4pm)
Location: Various sites (Mainly St Paul’s Sports Ground, Rotherhithe, SE16)
Salary: Volunteer role – Unpaid
Responsible to: Millwall Lionesses’ Managers
Role Summary:
This role is to lead the athletic development sessions of the women’s first team. Position requires to work alongside technical and medical staff to deliver all aspects of Sports Science/ Strength and Conditioning.
Key Responsibilities:
The role includes, but is not limited to
· Provide professional physical performance support for all registered Lionesses first team squad in line with the physical department’s physical syllabus.
· In association with the Lionesses technical staff, organise the weekly training plans and long-term programmes.
· Ensure Sports Science & S&C provision including on-pitch athletic development session plans, gym sessions, physical testing and growth & maturation testing are uploaded into the appropriate data bases within 24 hours.
· Ensure testing and monitoring practices are consistently implemented and evaluated to inform practice.
· Educate technical staff to ensure maintenance of age-appropriate best practice.
· Program and deliver all gym, rehab, and pitch-based sessions.
· To contribute to players reviews and audits to assess performance and potential.
· To monitor growth and maturation and implement appropriate strategies to aid player development and maximise availability.
Essential Requirements:
· Safeguarding Certificate
· First aid certificate
· Must commit to Monday, Wednesday and Sundays
Desired Requirements:
· MSc Strength & Conditioning Degree (or equivalent)
· UKSCA Accreditation (or working towards)
· BASES Accreditation (or working towards / desire to obtain)
