Job Title: Learning Support Assistant, Senior School
Hours of Work: 2 days (12hours) per week
Type of Contract: Fixed Term Contract
Reports to: Assistant Head (Head of Learning Support)
The Headmaster and CEO of Eltham College Family of Schools seeks to appoint an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to work at Eltham College Senior School, (part of the Eltham College Family of Schools). The Learning Support Assistant will assist the Lead Teacher of Learning Support in the Senior School to ensure that the diverse learning needs of students are met through focused in class support and tailored programmes of individual one to one and/or group support.
The post holder will primarily work with class teachers in whole class settings but will also work on a one-to-one basis with individuals and with groups of students on the Learning Support Register to ensure that their academic potential is fulfilled.
The Learning Support Assistant will also be expected to undertake record keeping and general administration relating to students on the Learning Support register and provide particular support to students in numeracy and science-based subjects. The postholder will be expected to promote our ethos whereby the personal development of the whole child is the shared common goal and provide particular support to students in numeracy and science-based subjects.
Eltham College is a highly successful independent day school in south-east London, educating boys and girls aged 7 to 18 across both Junior and Senior Schools. There are now around 1,080 students at Eltham College and Eltham College Junior School. After accepting girls into the Sixth Form for more than 40 years, in September 2020 it also opened Years 3 and 7 to girls, and in September 2024 became fully co-educational, with girls now in every year group. Eltham College and Blackheath Prep merged in September 2023 to create the Eltham College Family of Schools.
