JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent
WORKING HOURS: 39 Hours per Week with an early finish on Friday (5 hour day)

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Assembly Technician / Mechanical Fitter / Assembler who has experience working within a high precision engineering environment such as Aerospace, Nuclear, Medical, High-End Automotive or Motorsport.
Working as the Assembly Technician / Mechanical Fitter / Assembler you will be responsible for the assembly and testing of complex mechanical sub-assemblies and final products. This role requires a high degree of technical proficiency and a commitment to quality.
As the Assembly Technician / Mechanical Fitter / Assembler you will follow engineering specifications to ensure every component is correctly fitted and secured. This includes a range of critical tasks such as drilling and countersinking, match drilling for precision alignment, and applying adhesive bonding for secure joints. The role also demands expertise in specialised techniques such as helicoil and wet and dry assembly.
As a successful candidate you will have a keen eye for detail, great team working skills and the ability to work to a high standard.

DUTIES
Your duties as an Assembly Technician / Mechanical Fitter / Assembler include:
• Assembly & Testing: Assemble and test completed assemblies and sub-assemblies, following all relevant specifications and Bills of Materials
• Technical Drawings: Read and interpret complex technical drawings to guide the assembly process
• Precision Drilling: Perform match drilling, drilling, and countersinking for accurate and precise component fitting
• Bonding & Sealing: Execute adhesive bonding and wet and dry assembly techniques, including over sealing, to create durable and secure joints
• Helicoil Insertion: Fit Helicoil inserts to repair or create new threads in components
• Fastening & Riveting: Carry out a range of fastening tasks, including bolting, pot riveting, and solid riveting
• Quality & Performance Testing: Conduct a variety of tests to ensure product quality, including electrical bonding, torque testing, and pressure testing
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
• Industry experience - Aerospace (ideal), Nuclear, Medical or Automotive (high end), Motorsport
• Working to AS9100 / EASA Part 21 (G) standards (ideal)
• Must have good team working skills coupled with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
• Flexible and forward thinker with a 'can do' attitude
• Ideally located within easy local commute to Sutton-in-Ashfield site
