Summary


Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Charity are the official charity of Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust (CHFT). The charity raises, manages and distributes funds on behalf of CHFT in order to enhance and support patient care/experience and provide funding for projects, initiatives and equipment that are over and above the remit of NHS funding.

The Fundraising Coordinator is an integral part of the NHS Charity team. We are looking for someone who has knowledge and experience of fundraising and considerable energy and enthusiasm that will inspire patients, visitors and the local community to choose to support Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Charity. The post-holder will contribute to the successful performance of the charity by fundraising through a range of income streams and providing a positive and engaging supporter experience that champions the values and ethos of the charity.

We are looking for an experienced and driven individual to join our small, busy team as we grow and shape our long-term NHS charity strategy.

The Fundraising Coordinator is an integral part of the Charity team, having knowledge and experience of fundraising and considerable energy and enthusiasm that will inspire patients, visitors and the local community to choose to support CHFT Charity. The post-holder will contribute to the successful performance of the charityby developing and managing a variety fundraising campaigns and initiatives to develop range of income streams and providing a positive and engaging ‘supporter’ experience that champions the values and ethos of the charity.

The post is an important link between the charity, CHFT employees and the local community. The post-holder will build an understanding of NHS donor audiences and their motivations to give and will deliver a seamless and unique donor experience to every individual connecting with the charity, ensuring that respectful, genuine and engaging relationships are formed.

The post-holder will be expected to work in close collaboration with CHFT colleagues and will excel working in a creative and innovative environment. The post-holder will be expected to work independently and autonomously, mobilising fundraising projects and initiatives, and in doing so ensure they are working within Trust guidelines and charity law to safeguard the reputation and standing of the CHFT Charity.

We employ more than 6,500 staff who deliver compassionate care from our two main hospitals, Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary as well as in community sites, health centres and in patients’ homes. We also are incredibly proud to have almost 150 volunteers here at CHFT.

We provide a range of services including urgent and emergency care; medical; surgical; maternity; gynaecology; critical care; children’s and young people’s services; end of life care and outpatient and diagnostic imaging services.

We provide community health services, including sexual health services in Calderdale from Calderdale Royal and local health centres. These include Todmorden Health Centre and Broad Street Plaza.

We continue to modernise and invest in our health services to build on our strong reputation. Foundation trusts are public leaders in improving quality in health services. They are part of the NHS – yet decisions about what they do and how they do it are driven by independent boards. Boards listen to their Council of Governors and respond to the needs of their members – patients, staff and the local community.

Foundation trusts provide what the health service wants, yet are also free to invest quickly in the changes to the local community needs, in striving to be the best, and in putting their patients first.

Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Charity are the official charity of Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust (CHFT). The charity operates under the NHS Foundation Trust corporate trusteeship, with a Charitable Funds Committee (CFC) to manage day to day operations.

The charity raises, manages and distributes funds on behalf of CHFT in order to enhance and support patient care/experience and provide funding for projects, initiatives and equipment that are over and above the remit of NHS funding. We’re here to bring moments of joy, comfort and hope to those who need it most. We help our Trust and our colleagues to do even more to treat and care for patients. We push the limits of what is possible where the NHS is unable to.

We do this increasing awareness, fundraising, and engaging with our communities, we aim to make everything from a home visit to stay in hospital memorable for all the right reasons Working with CHFT colleagues, to identify ways to make a positive difference to patient experience and fund the things which matter most to patients and staff.

Whilst working alongside a professional team of other charity and financial staff, the post-holder will also be expected to work independently and autonomously, mobilising fundraising projects and initiatives, and in doing so ensure they are working within Trust guidelines and charity law to safeguard the reputation and standing of the Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Charity.
