Communications Provide reception duties. Deal with telephone, email and text enquiries from patients and other healthcare workers. Deal with face to face enquiries from patients who may be hard of hearing or deaf. Type up clinic reports and letters to support Audiologists. Use Relay to communicate with deaf patients where required. Responsibility for Patient Care Maintain confidentiality of patient information. Organise transport including ambulances and taxis for patients. Issue replacement batteries to patients. Assist patients /service users/carers/relatives during incidental contacts Planning and organising Organise and plan own day to day workload or activities in order to meet the demands of the job role. Book clinic appointments and reschedule cancelled appointments to optimise Audiology workload. Organise battery distribution to local centres, taking into account stock levels. Ensure patient notes available for clinics. Responsibilities for Physical and / or Financial Resources Ensure safe and efficient use of equipment, resources and consumables at all times. Actively contribute to the efficient management of departmental resources, including ordering/monitoring of supplies. Organise hearing aids for repair through drop-in, internal and external post. Send and receive earmoulds to/from manufacturers, if required. If successful this vacancy will require a Standard DBS check at a cost of £26.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £16..
