We are looking for a Driver/Housekeeper to join our dedicated team at our children’s residential mental health care home in Newmarket. This is a unique and rewarding role where you’ll support children and young people by maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment, as well as assisting with transportation needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Driving:
• Safely transport children, young people, and staff to appointments, school, activities, and outings as required.
• Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the vehicle(s), reporting any issues promptly.
• Ensure journeys are planned to ensure timeliness and efficiency.
Housekeeping:
• Ensure the home is kept clean, organized, and welcoming, including bedrooms, communal areas, and bathrooms.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, laundry, and sanitizing high-traffic areas.
• Assist with meal preparation and kitchen cleaning as needed.
• Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and report any shortages or required repairs.
What We’re Looking For:
• A valid UK driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Previous experience in a similar role (desirable but not essential).
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• A caring, compassionate, and patient approach to working with children and young people.
• An understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality in a care environment (training provided).
• Flexibility to adapt to the needs of the home and its residents.
