Wrap Around Coordinator (20-22.2hrs a week, 1pm - 5.45pm Mon-Thursday, Friday 3-5pm)
•To manage Barr View Wrap Around provision
•To be the key contact for school and the parents
•To effectively line manage and motivate the wrap around team
•To be responsible for the delivery of safe, and appropriate activities, including arts & crafts, physical activity, and creative play.
•To be responsible for the general welfare of pupils in our After School Wrap Around Care, adhering to Spark Active Safeguarding Policy & Procedures at all times.
•To work in a team and communicate effectively with colleagues to provide effective after school care.
•Create positive relationships with children, parents, school staff and the Spark Active Wrap Around Team
JOB DESCRIPTION
• To timetable physical activity, arts & play activities each week (link to important dates on the calendar and ensure age appropriate)
• Newsletter to parents to update them on activities.
• Liaise with parents regarding individual child needs and progress of children
• Lead contact for the club - including safeguarding, risk assessment and health & safety. Ensure all policies and procedures are updated when necessary.
• Line manage staff and complete regular team meetings
• Work with Spark Active & Finance manager to ensure all childcare vouchers are correct.
• Be competent using the coordinate sport booking system – ensuring you can add dates and staff to the system as well as book children on and check payments.
• Regularly promote the wrap around club on Spark Actives social media.
• Oversee and manage coaches that are working within the setting.
• Liaise with Barr View Head Teacher, Business Manager and Caretaker.
• Arrange food orders and ensure food is prepared in line with Food Hygiene requirements.
• To ensure the safe arrival of children from their classes and ensure the safe delivery to their parents / carers at the end of the day.
• To assist with the planning, preparing and delivery of activities, ensuring they meet children’s individual needs.
• Room registers must be completed accurately and passed onto the Wrap Around Coordinator when appropriate.
• Keeping children safe and minimizing risks in the wrap-around are environment including daily risk assessment checks.
• Preparing and serving snacks / refreshments for the children ensuring that hygiene, health & safety measures are met.
• Administer and record first aid as appropriate.
• Be responsible for setting up the room for the daily activities and aiding with the care and cleanliness of the rooms and equipment, including tidying the rooms at the end of the day.
• Ensure that display boards are kept tidy and filled with artwork and activities (if applicable)
• Take photos (via work phone / tablet) for the newsletter and social media, ensuring you adhere to data protection & safeguarding guidelines.
• To plan and deliver fun and engaging activities that are appropriate to the age and ability of the children you are working with.
• To always act as a positive role model to the children and encourage & support them to join in in activities.
• To ensure all activities are delivered safely and inline will all club policies.
• To promote our pupil SPARK Active values and reward children with stickers at appropriate times
• To use initiative and communicate effectively with colleagues.
• To effectively manage behaviour using positive behaviour strategies in line with the Wrap Around Care Behaviour Policy
• To ensure that Wrap Around Care offers a high quality, inclusive environment which meets the needs of all children, regardless of social, cultural, religious beliefs.
• Report any safeguarding concerns to the Wrap Around Coordinator (DSL) or to Spark Active Senior DSL CEO immediately.
• To positively contribute to team meetings
• At all times, staff are expected to remain professional, and maintain professional relationships with parents or young people they have relationships with outside the workplace.
Candidate must hold a level 3 childcare qualification or teaching assistant qualification due to Ofsted requirements of the EYFS framework
