About the Role
The Education Network is recruiting on behalf of an outstanding SEN school in Warrington. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a year 10 pupil with ADHD and ASD. The student responds particularly well to positive male role models, so applications from male Teaching Assistants are especially encouraged.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by providing tailored support that enables the child to access learning, develop social skills, and thrive in a positive school environment. This is a full time (5 days, 8.30am - 3.30pm) post offering 12 month contract for the right candidate
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 support during lessons, adapting activities to suit the child’s individual needs.
Support with transitions, focus, and behaviour management in line with personalised strategies.
Foster positive relationships, encouraging confidence, independence, and emotional regulation.
Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals to implement the child’s support plan.
Record progress and contribute to regular reviews of learning and development.
About You:
We are looking for someone who is:
Patient, empathetic, and passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
Experienced in working with children with ADHD and/or ASD (desirable but not essential if you have transferable skills).
Able to use initiative, remain calm under pressure, and adapt to changing situations.
A strong communicator who works effectively as part of a team.
Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
What We Offer:
A welcoming and supportive school community.
Training and development opportunities to enhance your SEN expertise.
The chance to make a meaningful difference in a child’s educational journey.
Weekly pay, paid via PAYE
How to Apply:
Apply via this ad or email CV to warrington@ednet.uk.
The Education Network is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to enhanced DBS checks and satisfactory references.
