HTC Contracts is seeking a reliable and diligent General Construction Operative or site labourer to carry out day‑to‑day site tasks as directed by our management team. This role is key to the smooth and safe running of our projects, supporting trades, maintaining high standards, and completing work with the care and precision our reputation is built on.
The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, physically fit, and committed to quality – taking pride in every task, no matter how small.
Key Duties:
Carrying out general construction activities as directed.
Assisting trades to keep the project moving efficiently.
Performing site set‑up and clean‑up tasks.
Safely lifting/moving materials and navigating site terrain.
Maintaining tools and equipment in good condition.
Following all site health & safety rules and procedures.
Essential Requirements:
Full UK driving licence.
Ability to follow written and spoken instructions.
Good team working skills and positive attitude.
Basic numeracy and literacy.
Comfortable working at height and in all weather.
Good physical condition.
Desirable Requirements:
Previous site/labouring experience.
Knowledge of construction industry safety standards.
Capable of working with minimal oversight when needed.
