We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, well-organised and detail-focused Clerk to join our administrative team to provide Clerking support to our governing body, both on site for meetings and working from home to complete administrative duties and personal learningAbout Us: St Francis CE VA Primary School is a thriving and inclusive two form primary school dedicated to providing high-quality education in a nurturing and dynamic environment. We are now seeking to appoint a Clerk to support the governing body to join our established and happy team. We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Clerk to contribute to the efficient governance of the school. If you do not have Clerking experience, we would also look at suitable transferable skills.The Role: As the Clerk to Governors, you will play a key role in supporting the governance function of the school by providing administrative support and governance knowledge to the governing body. You will work closely with the Headteacher, Governors, and Senior Leadership Team to ensure that the governance of the school is outstanding. Hours: This is a part time position. You will be required to be in school for the meetings, which usually start at 6:30pm on Tuesdays. There are approximately 9 meetings per year you would need to clerk for. This role allows for flexibility. Some weeks you may do more hours than others, but you will be paid 4 hours per week over 39 weeks per year (44.64 including holiday pay)Key Responsibilities: Preparation of agendas in consultation with Chair of Governors and HeadteacherCollating all paperwork in relation to the agenda and sharing with key peopleTaking minutes at in-person meetings and updating and sharing as requiredEnsure compliance with statutory requirements and school governance policies.Ability to work on their own and prioritise tasks.About You: The ideal candidate will not only have the relevant skills and knowledge but also be adaptable, relish the unexpected every day! The ideal candidate should possess: • Experience in Governance or suitable transferable skills.
