Brightwork have an excellent opportunity for an experienced chemist to join our manufacturing client at their site in North Ayrshire, working on a full-time, permanent basis.
This role involves delivering high-quality analysis, providing technical expertise, and ensuring compliance with HSE standards while contributing to innovation and safe product introduction.
The Role - Chemist
- Analyse raw materials, intermediates, and finished products to meet company and customer requirements.
- Provide technical advice on substances, analytical methods, and interpretation of results.
- Develop and validate both energetic and non-energetic materials to meet safety and performance standards.
- Support safe introduction of new and transferred products into manufacturing.
- Contribute technical input to projects, bids, and proposals.
- Ensure compliance with HSE legislation and company procedures.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement.
The successful candidate
- Degree in Chemistry or related discipline.
- Practical laboratory experience in testing and analysis.
- Knowledge of hazardous materials, COSHH, and analytical techniques.
- Experience with energetic materials and industry standards (MoD/NATO) is desirable.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proactive approach with commitment to safety and quality.
