An exciting opportunity has arisen to expand the peer support workforce in our ReConnect Service.

Our Greater Manchester ReConnect Service is commissioned by NHS England and is a care after custody service that seeks to improve the care of people leaving prison. Reconnect offers screening and support pre-release, and peer led navigation and support in the community post release.

The Greater Manchester ReConnect Service is currently provided in HMP Forest Bank and HMP Hindley and will be expanding to cover the remaining 3 Greater Manchester Prisons

The vacant positions are for the following catchment area however the post holder will be expected to cross cover for the Greater Manchester area depending on service need.

3 vacancies to cover Stockport, Tameside, Rochdale and Oldham

1 vacancy to cover Wigan, Bolton and Bury

The role of the Peer Support Navigator is to draw on their lived experience of wider vulnerability within the criminal justice system; to support individuals leaving prison to enhance their health, wellbeing, and quality of life. To assist people to connect with and access health services, voluntary sector services and community-based activities and support.

Greater Manchester Mental Health (GMMH) Foundation Trust employs over 7,000 members of staff, who deliver services from more than 122 locations.
