Multi-Skilled Engineer - FMCG Organisation
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off - Days/Nights

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Multi-Skilled Engineer to join a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment. In this role, you will provide technical expertise in both electrical and mechanical disciplines to support the smooth running of the factory. Working closely with the Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring machinery performance, minimising downtime, and helping the site meet its production targets.

This is a hands-on role that includes carrying out planned preventative maintenance, resolving breakdowns, and supporting ongoing improvement projects. You will also share your knowledge with the wider team, assist senior engineers, and take ownership of smaller projects when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to reactive maintenance issues and safely repair breakdowns in a timely, permanent manner.

  • Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across electrical, pneumatics, and hydraulics systems.

  • Support production teams by resolving equipment issues quickly and effectively.

  • Follow SOPs and carry out all tasks to a high standard.

  • Contribute to engineering projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Accurately record maintenance and breakdown activity in the CMMS system to help drive reliability improvements.

  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and other departments.

  • Ensure all work is compliant with relevant legislation, health & safety requirements, and food safety standards (HACCP).

Personal Specification

  • Strong knowledge and experience in both electrical and mechanical engineering within an FMCG or manufacturing environment.

  • Commitment to high standards of hygiene, safety, and product quality.

  • Ability to work effectively within a team and share knowledge with colleagues.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to work within a fast-paced production environment.

  • A proactive approach to identifying risks, near misses, and training needs.

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off - Days/Nights
