Job Description
Due to growth over recent years, we have an opening at our MRF Waste Site within the Hangar team as a Weighbridge and Yard Assistant on a full-time permanent contract. This position is available with an immediate start date. This is a fantastic opportunity to start your career within a family firm in a growing industry.
Outline of the Role:
• Liaising daily with customers, colleagues & general public
• Responsible for all traffic/vehicles coming onto site
• Ensure all personnel book in & out of site
• Ensure all driver/operators are briefed on site rules
• Ensure all drivers don the correct PPE & adhere to H&S
• Operate both inbound & outbound weighbridge
• Check incoming loads, all waste types are permitted in accordance with site license
• Accurately record company, waste type, weights by driver/operator & vehicle registration number, (VRN) completing associated documentation ensuring compliance by obtaining driver/operators signatures
• Take orders & or payments in person, via phone & or email
• Process & issue delivery notes & tickets accurately and efficiently
• Immediately report any hazardous, contamination & or non-conforming waste types delivered directly to the Site Manager
• Report any discrepancies/anomalies & or weighbridge related software issues to the Site Manager
• Produce daily reports for various tonnages & product lines
• Ensure that vehicles delivering to site have the correct documentation inclusive of EWC codes
• Ensure that vehicles have the necessary paperwork for forward movements from the site to destination.
• Assist with general administrative duties & customer service ensuring good customer relations and correspondence
• Inform respective site staff of inbound vehicles and or waste types
• Ensure third parties are familiar with the loading & unloading procedures as per RAMS
• Good housekeeping
• MHE, trained (counterbalance/telehandler) is advantageous however training can be provided
• Will be required to assist & load customers on the yard, which could include using Forklift/telehandler
• Follow all health and safety rules and regulations, including manual handling practices and procedures.
The Candidate:
You will need to be a confident individual with excellent communication and IT skills. You will need a can-do attitude and resilience that is required in this highly competitive market. We are looking for a candidate that is looking to progress their career and is looking for a long-term position. As a business we have grown year on year and look to continue this trend in the future. Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential. All training will be provided we are wanting to find the right candidate. You need to be proficient in Microsoft office, word, excel etc.
Working Hours /Schedule
Hours - Monday to Friday 07:00-18:00, with alternate Saturdays 07:00-13:00.
Salary
Hourly rate will be £12.21-£13.00 dependant on experience with various bonus pay and overtime available.
