Female Personal Care Assistant/Support Worker required to assist a young woman with Cerebral Palsy, Learning Disabilities and Startle Seizures, living in the Motherwell area.
You would be required to provide one to one care and assistance within their home, and in the community including attending to personal care and participation in social activities. Your duties would involve assisting with tasks such as:
· Attending to all personal care needs (showering, toileting including bowel movements)
· Assisting with medication
· Preparing meals and healthy snacks
· Assisting with participation in these physical activities; pottery, Zumba, gym, bowling, cinema and getting hair & nails done.
· Moving and assisting – Assistance with transferring from Power wheelchair off & on toilet/shower chair & bed.
· Shopping and collecting prescriptions
· Any other daily living tasks to promote independent living
Must take a proactive and innovative approach to support and encourage individual to be involved in activities suited to their needs.
The most important qualities are a warm and friendly nature and a desire to work within a caring role.
Driver with a Full UK Manual Driving Licence is essential as you will be required to drive a manual mobility vehicle.
Relevant experience desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Recruiting for 1 position.
Guaranteed permanent 30 hours each month.
1 sleepover per month (24 hour shift, sleeping night shift)
1 afternoon/evening weekend shift per month (approximately 6 hours per shift)
Friday 12pm to Saturday 12pm
OR
Saturday 12pm to Sunday 12pm.
Some evenings may be required – Employer is flexible, to be discussed at interview.
