Junior Technical CAD/Product Development Engineer
Location: Birmingham
Salary: Up to £35,000 depending on experience
Hours: Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:30 / Friday: 07:30 - 12:30
Overview:
An exciting opportunity for a Junior Technical CAD/Product Development Engineer to join a growing design and manufacturing team. This role will suit someone with experience in product development, CAD design, and an understanding of machining processes. Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop products using CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor.
Create detailed technical drawings and specifications for manufacturing.
Collaborate with the production team to ensure designs are feasible and optimised for manufacturing.
Check and approve technical drawings.
Provide support to the manufacturing team where required.
Ensure all work meets quality and technical standards.
Mandatory Requirements:
Proficiency in CAD software (Autodesk Inventor).
Good knowledge of metals and machining processes.
Strong understanding of GD&T.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Desirable (Not Essential):
Experience using Autodesk Vault.
Background in door and cabinet hardware design.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
Experience with shop floor machining and manufacturing processes.
Experience producing BOMs (Bills of Materials) and technical documentation.
