Reporting to: Seniors; Supervisor; General Manager

Hours of Work: Flexible – zero hours contract
Shifts are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, with one hour unpaid lunch break

Summary
Barrington Farm is a unique, independent day service centre, set in 22 acres in the village of Walcott, North Norfolk. Founded in 1988 by the present owner, the centre provides a vibrant and stimulating environment for adults with learning disabilities alongside The Rookery residential care home. The service includes the renowned art centre, working farm and activity centre, and is open weekdays from 10am until 5pm throughout the year.

Person Specification
We are looking for creative and reliable Bank Art Facilitators / Support Workers. Your role will be to facilitate individual and group activities and provide support for service users at Barrington Farm. Every day is different - you may be helping artists with painting or sewing, facilitating activities or managing a booking for the sensory room. The successful applicant will hold an art degree and will assist our service users to express themselves through creativity and other activities, maintaining a basic philosophy of non-intervention. In addition, you will be required to be flexible and adaptable, supporting service users throughout the day service and other areas of the organisation. Personal care may be required.

Purpose of Position
To assist adults with a learning disability within a day service setting to access meaningful occupation, via the provision of support and assistance. To contribute to an effective service in accordance with legislative requirements, organisational policies, procedures and objectives. While on duty the Art Facilitator’s/Support Worker priorities must be first and foremost toward the care and welfare of their charges. Take responsibility in conjunction with other members of staff for the day to day running of the Art Barn including mounting and framing works, preparing paint, paper, canvasses and other materials for the use of the participants and for the day-to-day running of the learning and leisure area and sensory room.
