Summary
About JDM Food Group
Founded in 1999 and rooted in Lincolnshire, JDM Food Group began by sourcing premium garlic and ginger. Since then, we evolved into Smart Flavourists®, expertly transforming high-quality ingredients into innovative sauces, pastes, marinades, and more. With state-of-the-art facilities and an integrated supply chain spanning ingredient sourcing to packaging, we deliver exceptional flavour solutions across the UK and Europe. Driven by food safety, sustainability, and innovation, we are proud to create products that set the standard for quality and taste.
The Role
Reporting to the Department Manager, the Production Supervisor will lead a team in meeting daily production targets while developing skills, efficiency, and performance across the department. This is a hands-on role based on the factory floor, not behind a desk.
You’ll be passionate about food and committed to running your area to budget while achieving output targets that satisfy customer requirements and uphold the highest standards. With full accountability for people safety, food safety, quality, cost, and delivery, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to build a culture of continuous improvement. By shaping and delivering the site’s manufacturing strategy, you’ll help drive operational success and long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety
• Promote and maintain a safe working environment, ensuring all Health & Safety and Environmental policies are adhered to.
• Lead by example, actively supporting and promoting the site’s safety strategy.
• Report and investigate accidents and near misses promptly, identifying and eliminating root causes.
People
• Work closely with the People and Training teams to deliver JDM’s People Strategy, role-modelling company values and behaviours.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and team engagement to build a skilled, motivated workforce.
• Supervise daily operations, ensuring productivity, efficiency, and strong team performance.
• Lead, coach, and develop your team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Food Safety & Quality
• Own food safety on the factory floor, ensuring KPIs are communicated, met, and exceeded.
• Monitor and improve quality performance through proactive data analysis and root cause investigations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise processes, efficiencies, and standards.
Cost & KPIs
• Manage raw materials effectively to minimise waste.
• Deliver production targets on time, in full, and to customer specifications.
• Track and report performance against KPIs using systems such as SAP, escalating issues when needed.
What We’re Looking For:
The successful candidate will have:
• Hands-on leadership experience, with a proven ability to inspire, coach, and develop teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, confident working across all levels and functions.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to self-manage, prioritise, and problem-solve effectively.
• IT literate, with good knowledge of Excel and confidence working with data systems such as SAP.
• Flexible, proactive, and committed to driving continuous improvement.
• Passionate about food, safety, and delivering excellence in a fast-paced environment.
Why Join Us?
At JDM Food Group, you’ll be part of a supportive, forward-thinking business where people are at the heart of what we do. We offer a modern working environment, opportunities for growth and development, and the chance to make a real impact in a business that is constantly evolving.
