A Vacancy at Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
The post holder will be part of the team of DCTs based mainly within Birmingham Dental Hospital. Their clinical commitments will include generic primary care commitments and restorative dentistry specific clinics.They will be part of the restorative dental team across the hospital restorative specialities.
The clinical duties of this post in Restorative Dentistry will involve outpatient care of patients in restorative dentistry at the Birmingham Dental Hospital involving all aspects of Restorative specialities. This will include attendance at new patient clinics and also treating patients on their own dedicated treatment sessions. In addition there will be clinical supervision and training.
As part of the post there will be an opportunity to attend MDT clinics. Certain clinics are involved in undergraduate teaching and there will also be opportunities to gain experience on these clinics. As part of the post the post holder will also attend generic primary care clinics in the dental hospital.

The aim of this post is to broaden knowledge and gain experience in the management and treatment of patients requiring tier one to three restorative dentistry procedures and to acquire skills in restorative dentistry beyond those attained as an undergraduate. To provide you with an understanding of the range of diseases and conditions which affect the dentition along with management of dental trauma and other developmental dental anomolies. To gain experience in the management of these patients and treat those with complex medical problems. The unit encourages a multidisciplinary team approach and your time in the post should provide you with opportunities to develop diagnostic and clinical skills and allow greater understanding and experience of managing patients in hospital based specialist services.
To undertake other duties commensurate with this grade of post in agreement with the relevant line manager.
