If so this would be a perfect opportunity for you. The course timetable will be split between the University of Greater Manchester, and the clinical placement in HMR, according to the curriculum.



An academic supervisor and assessor will be allocated, who will offer support in achieving the learning outcomes for practice. The students will be based with their supervisor and will have the opportunity to work at various sites within the organisation. Skills will be developed to enable the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme in a variety of community settings, including Children’s Centre's and the family home environment, whilst working as part of a skill mix team.

Successful completion of the course will lead to registration on Part 3 of the NMC register, an NMC recordable qualification, and eligibility to apply for a post as a Health Visitor.

We are offering a fixed-term, one-year full-time contract for a BSc/PGDip Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Health Visiting) course at the University of Greater Manchester.

Details:
• Start Date: January 2026
• Completion Date: January 2027
• Salary: Band 5

This course is a balanced mix of 50% academic study and 50% practical experience, with placements across HMR.

Funding:
This is a fully-funded training opportunity, subject to funding availability from Health Education England. Successful participants will qualify as registered Specialist Community Public Health Nurses (Health Visitors).

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as an Registered Nurse in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC PIN within the next 3 months. Please note an NMC PRN PIN is not a full NMC PIN and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.

The NCA can no longer accept applications from International Nurses who are yet to complete all competencies needed to receive a full NMC PIN to practice in the UK as we have paused our OSCE programme indefinitely.
