The Role
Are you ready to make a real difference for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?
We are seeking a Family liaison and engagement lead (SEND) to join our leadership team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of SEND services in Tameside. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and knowledgeable professional to drive improvements, support families, and champion the best outcomes for children and young people.
As Family liaison and engagement lead (SEND), you will:
Oversee and manage tribunal processes, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and the SEND Code of Practice.
Work collaboratively with families, schools, and key partners in health and social care to resolve disputes and improve service delivery.
Lead on key areas of SEND service improvement, ensuring high-quality, inclusive provision for children and young people up to the age of 25.
Provide professional guidance and support to SEND service managers, ensuring that tribunal processes are managed efficiently and effectively.
Play a key role in the local area SEND partnership, contributing to strategic planning and ensuring resources are used effectively to meet needs.

About You
We are looking for a candidate who:
Has strong knowledge of SEND legislation, including the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice.
Has experience in managing tribunal processes and dispute resolution in SEND or a related field.
Can confidently lead teams and work collaboratively across multi-agency partnerships.
Is committed to continuous service improvement and ensuring positive outcomes for children, young people, and their families
