JOB OVERVIEWWe are looking for an experienced Learning Support Assistant / Teaching Assistant to support the teaching and learning at Merrow Schools Federation. The federation incorporates Merrow CofE Infant School and Merrow Junior School (formerly known as Bushy Hill).
The schools are located 5 minutes apart on the outskirts of Guildford, with staff working primarily at one school only (this vacancy that will be at the Juniors) however we are keen to recruit staff who have a flexible approach to working across the schools if the needs arise.The LSA role is rewarding and varied and we are particularly looking for:Flexible and resourceful individuals able to adapt to changing prioritiesExperienced LSAs with SEN experienceAspirational LSAs who are interested in training to be a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Working with class teachers to deliver excellent teaching and learning Supporting children on a 1:1 or group basis (including children with additional needs)Supporting assessment and evidencing learning Working with the teacher to create stimulating classroom displays and learning resources Maintaining a safe and positive environment for all learners Creating opportunities for all learners to reach their potential, irrespective of ability

THE RIGHT CANDIDATE WILL HAVE: GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant A proven ability to work on their own initiative A high level of communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults The ability to use relevant technology/equipment A positive ‘growth mindset’ attitudeFlexibility to move across Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 1 (although this role will primarily be in Key Stage 1)A commitment to the happiness, well-being, self-esteem and progress of everyone at the school We particular welcome applications from those with experience of working with children with Social & Emotional needs or ASD

NB: We are always keen to extend existing contracts subject to funding.Days: Mon-Fri 17.50h per week (08.30-12.00)
