About the Role:

As a Computer Science Lecturer, you will be delivering engaging, innovative, and industry-relevant sessions across a range of FE courses, including BTEC, vocational, and A-Level equivalent programmes. You will play a key role in developing learners’ digital skills, preparing them for higher education, apprenticeships, or the modern workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver high-quality Computer Science and Computing sessions in line with course specifications and awarding body standards

  
  

• Differentiate teaching methods to support learners of all abilities and backgrounds

  
  

• Support students with their coursework, assessments, and progression goals

  
  

• Monitor learner progress, providing constructive feedback and maintaining accurate records

  
  

• Contribute to curriculum development and collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning

  
  

• Uphold safeguarding and college policies to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment

  
  What We’re Looking For:

  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or equivalent) – or willingness to work towards one

    
    

  • Experience teaching IT/Computing within a Further Education or post-16 setting

    
    

  • Excellent subject knowledge across key Computer Science disciplines (e.g. programming, networking, cyber security, digital skills)

    
    

  • Strong classroom management and learner engagement skills

    
    

  • A flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to work across different FE providers in Leicester
