Crynodeb
The appointee will join a team of Urologists at Croydon University Hospital (CUH) and St George's Hospital to provide both elective and emergency care. The appointee will provide 6 PAs at SGH and 4 PAs at CUH with on-calls at SGH. The appointee will provide core urology services at CUH and participate in the on call rota at SGH. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and a forward thinking surgeon and will help to create an enhanced network for Urology patients. It would be expected that the appointee will undertake a minimum of 8.5 programmed activities for direct clinical (DCC) care and 1.5 programmed activity for Supporting Activities (SPA). Normally these are expected to be carried out on site, though this may be negotiable in respect of the supporting activities. On call commitments will be undertaken at St George's Hospital, as is a consultant of the week arrangement. The on-call is 1:12 and supported by an on-site SpR. The consultant will be expected to perform daily ward rounds and review acute admissions in line with Emergency Standards. Elective work is cancelled during on-call periods.
