We are recruiting to anOccupational Therapist (OT) rolewithin the West Midlands Learning Disability and Autism Community Forensic Service.

This service is being developed as a partnership betweenCoventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust (CWPT)andMidlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT).

We are seeking experienced OTs with a background incommunity and forensic work with adults with learning disabilities and/or autistic adults. Applications are welcome from staff who are currently working atBand 6 level or above.

This is anon-recurrent, two-year projectfunded via the Reach Out Collaborative, with the contract commencing upon appointment. This post is available as afixed-term contract or 20-month secondmentopportunity for internal applicants.

This is an exciting opportunity to play akey role in delivering specialist OT interventions and supporting recovery-focused outcomesfor individuals in secure inpatient services across the region.

Key priorities include:

· Delivering the agreedOccupational Therapy responsibilitiesof the West Midlands Community Forensic LDA service, following relevant protocols and procedures.

· Offeringhighly-specialist OT support and interventionsto service users, families, and carers, across both inpatient and community services.

· Managing anindependent caseloadwhile collaborating with other professionals and carers to help service users achieve recovery goals in the context of their learning disability and/or autism, risk profile, and social circumstances.

· LeadingOT service developmentsin line with agreed service priorities and timescales.

· Supervising and managing clinical practiceas required, including OT students and other staff working within the clinical area.

· Participating in theWest Midlands-wide on-call rota, providing clinical advice and urgent support outside core hours.

The post holder will:

Deliver the agreed Occupational Therapist responsibilities of the West Midlands Community Forensic LDA service, following relevant protocols and procedures.

Offer highly-specialist OT support and interventions to families and carers, working across inpatient and community services.

Manage their own caseload and work with other professionals/carers to help service users to reach recovery goals in the context of their LD and/or autism, risk, and social circumstances.

To lead on Occupational Therapy service developments in line with service priorities and timescales, as agreed.

To supervise and manage clinical practice as required, including OT students and other staff working in their clinical area.

The post holder will be supported by the respective organisation’s General Managers, Professional Leads, the Reach Out Collaborative and their current line manager.
