The Best Connection are excited to announce that we are currently recruiting for their client John Lewis & Partners who are currently looking for 8 Drivers Mates to start on 23rd September .
As one of John Lewis & Partners Drivers Mates based in Handforth Customer Delivery Hub, you'll have the unique opportunity of bringing the distinctive John Lewis service right to their customers' door and deliver the products they love into their homes (such as furniture, kitchen appliances, sound systems and TV sets) as part of a 2-person delivery crew.
Key Responsibilities
Your day will see you start at the delivery hub in Handforth before heading out on route with the driver where you're responsibilities will include:
- Being an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with great customer service as your number one priority.
- Helping load up your lorry with the days deliveries working alongside the warehouse team and driver.
- Setting up delivery routes on to John Lewis delivery systems to find best possible route to locations and assisting the driver.
-Contacting customers to give estimated time of arrival and to make sure access is available.
-Assisting the driver move furniture etc into customers properties taking great care with items. Assisting with installations.
- Demonstrating great respect and courtesy for the customer's home and handle any unexpected situations to find the best
possible solution for your customers.
Essential skills/experience you'll need
- Able to cope with the physical requirements of the role (you will spend a lot of time delivering large items such as sofas, white goods, sports equipment, furniture, beds, and mattresses).
- Great verbal communication skills both over the phone and face to face.
- Previous experience in a customer facing role preferred but not essential.
You will work a 4 day week as required by John Lewis (Monday to Saturday)
41 hour week, 10.25 hours per day.
6am to 5pm or 10.30am to 9.30pmpm Monday to Friday
6am to 5pm or 7am to 6pm on Saturdays
Paid Inductions will be held on 23rd and 24th September at John Lewis, Stanley Green, Epsom Avenue, Handforth SK9 3RN
£12.45 per hour paid weekly
